Marketing Manager

Position Overview:

The Cerulli marketing team is looking for an energetic, well organized, and collaborative individual to join our marketing team. This marketing position is based in the Boston office, and reports to the head of marketing. The position will play a pivotal role in shaping Cerulli’s prospect and client engagement experience across channels. Primary responsibilities include the execution of Cerulli’s marketing campaigns, press outreach, creation and management of Cerulli’s online and in person events (including industry conferences), and management of marketing channels (including social media) for message amplification. Writing, communication, and knowledge of creating and executing integrated marketing campaigns are essential for this role.

This individual will work very closely with other members of the marketing, editorial, design, and sales teams. It also requires working closely with analysts in all three offices to develop compelling storylines that drive interest in report purchase. This position does not require travel.

Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Collaborate with members of the marketing team, editorial team, sales team, and analysts to develop integrated marketing campaigns that help our clients and prospects understand our product and brand value proposition.
  • Work with the team to successfully manage and execute all report launches throughout the year.
  • Develop and execute Cerulli events including webcasts, in-person events, and industry conferences (including promotional copy, internal marketing, presentation support, and liaising with external vendors).
  • Assist with the content development of press releases and execution of media strategy.
  • Champion our marketing automation system, Marketo. Understand the nuances of the platform and develop new programs that assist with ongoing prospect nurturing, engagement, and lead generation.
  • Work cross-functionally across marketing, sales, tech, and research teams for regular administration of the company’s CRM.
  • Partner with heads of marketing and sales to determine key measures of success, including reports that demonstrate campaign effectiveness. Suggest modifications to campaigns as needed.

Qualifications:

  • 5 - 7 years of marketing experience in financial services.
  • Strong knowledge of the financial services and asset management industry and its various distribution channels and product lines in the U.S.
  • Proficiency in developing and writing effective marketing content for a variety of audiences, including writing press releases, web copy, and email copy.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills are required.
  • Ability to multi-task and change course quickly as needed.
  • Intermediate experience working with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Powerpoint) preferred.
  • Experience working with a marketing automation platform (Marketo or Pardot) and understanding marketing automation workflow.
  • Preference is for a candidate with a bachelor’s degree in marketing or communications.
  • Experience with website content management system (e.g.; Umbraco) a plus.

Associate Analyst, Wealth Management

Position Overview:

The Associate Analyst, Wealth Management is a full-time role based in the Boston office. The person in this position will work within the Wealth Management practice and report to the Associate Director, Wealth Management. Cerulli’s Wealth Management practice focuses on trends related to financial advisors and related intermediaries, including:

  • In-depth competitive analysis and qualitative coverage of the largest B/Ds and RIA custodians
  • Needs, challenges, risks, and opportunities facing financial advisors
  • Competitive dynamics underlying marketshare shifts across wirehouse, RIA, independent B/D, private bank, family office, and other advisor affiliation models
  • Distribution strategies for retail asset management products sold through financial advisors
  • Strategy for distribution teams, including structure, compensation, and resource allocation

This position is ideal for someone who is analytical and quantitatively oriented, exhibits strong writing skills, works autonomously, is adaptable, is comfortable working on multiple projects simultaneously, and seeks to build deep industry expertise. Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Use IBM SPSS and Microsoft Excel software to implement Cerulli’s proprietary broker/dealer database
  • Continuously work to innovate databases, SPSS syntax, Excel models, and outputs
  • Fully document and update all processes
  • Create exhibits using SPSS, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Collect data from public company filings and other sources for quarterly/annual market sizing projects
  • Build, test, and manage surveys using Qualtrics online survey software
  • Scrub raw survey data to minimize invalid responses and identify outliers
  • Develop lists of senior executives and solicit their participation in the research processes
  • Support data needs for partnerships with industry trade associations and publications
  • Shadow research calls with senior executives to build subject-matter expertise

Qualifications:

  • 0-2 years of experience in financial services; prior experience working with financial advisors is a plus
  • Proficient in Excel; able to manipulate and analyze sizeable amounts of data
  • Experience with, or the desire to learn, IBM SPSS software
  • Superior quantitative acumen is a must
  • Comfort with soliciting survey and research call participation with industry executives

Associate Analyst, Institutional 

Position Overview:

The position is based in the Boston office and focuses on research related to the institutional asset management industry. Areas of greatest focus include researching the opportunities and challenges facing institutional asset managers, investment consultants, and U.S. institutional investors (e.g., defined benefit plans, endowments, foundations, etc.).

The position is ideal for someone who is analytical and quantitatively-oriented, exhibits strong written and verbal communication skills, works autonomously, is adaptable and comfortable multi-tasking, and seeks to build deep industry expertise. The position reports into a Senior Analyst on the Institutional team.

Responsibilities and Duties:

The Associate Analyst generates quantitative analytics and manages projects for research, publishing, and consulting needs. Responsibilities include:

  • Assist in the development and analysis of proprietary surveys, interfacing with Survey Analyst to administer surveys and chart results
  • Help develop focused research panels, calling and emailing targeted participants to increase survey participation
  • Schedule research calls and meetings with senior executives, and capture detailed notes
  • Collaborate with other analysts in asset management practice on monthly and quarterly publications; Duties include data-gathering, analysis, chart creation and assembly, and writing commentary
  • Attend research calls with senior executives to build subject-matter expertise
  • Coordinate projects for the practices’ strategic consulting and custom research engagements
  • Participate in research efforts by identifying key topics of interest and providing ideas and input throughout the report cycle

Qualifications:

  • 0 - 3 years’ experience in financial services, preferably in a product management, research, or analytical role; Understanding of institutional asset management is helpful
